Gloucester Cathedral

Gloucester Cathedral is thrilled to take part in this work. The neuron is placed on the Great West Door where it will pick up the sounds of a modern cathedral: the early morning quiet as vergers open up and the clergy come in to say their prayers; the busy day as the shop opens, visitors stream in, guides guide, the stonemasons chip away, choirs practice, schoolchildren chatter as they come to see the place where Harry Potter was filmed; then in the early evening Choral Evensong is sung in the sacred space; finally Carol Concerts and musical events fill the nave with harmony. The nave acoustic was loved by the great composers, particularly Ralph Vaughan Williams, Edward Elgar and Hubert Parry, the organ has an international reputation and the architecture causes all to gasp in wonder. Gloucester Cathedral is a greatly loved and magical place and we all hope the neuron will pick up this extraordinary atmosphere.
